Vintage lace collecting seems to be my current past time as I am always on the look out for that perfect doily design which fits a unique shape perfectly. I am learning how lace was made and for what items--pillowcase edging, table scarf borders, collars, cuffs, and more. The workmanship and detail are incredible! Each piece of lace is used repeatedly, with no harm other than clay dust (which can be gently washed out).... any of the lace designs can fit on a wide variety of shapes, so customizing pieces for you is very easy. Get in touch if you'd like some custom, one of kind, serving pieces for your holiday table.
A New Face for Old Lace
Give your grandmother's vintage lace doily a new life and a new purpose by pressing it into clay and making it into a bowl, a platter, a mug, a plate, a spoon rest--whatever you decide! (Clay dust will be washed out of the original doily and returned to you for safekeeping.) Now enjoy that new clay item with your family, thinking of your relative each time you use it. A unique idea for a wedding gift, a birthday gift, Mother's Day, etc.... Once I have received your lace items and we've decided what items you would like created, allow 4 weeks for the finished product. The possibilities are endless!
